This 37-year-old mother and clothing designer in Los Angeles desired breast implant corrective surgery and power-assisted liposuction. Eleven years earlier, she had received a breast augmentation procedure from another surgeon before she had children, and was experiencing hardened breasts, droopiness, stretch marks, and rippling. She was also unhappy with how unnatural her previous surgeon's results looked. When her surgeon examined her breasts, he found that capsular contracture (excessive formation of scar tissue around the implant) was partly to blame for her breasts' distorted shape, and recommended breast capsulotomies combined with breast implant replacement. Because removing the "capsule" of scar tissue reduces the volume of the breast, some patients will need to combine these procedures with a Los Angeles breast lift as well, but for this particular patient her surgeon determined that the augmentation alone was enough to correct this problem.

In the operating room her surgeon removed her old implants and performed open capsulotomies on each breast to expand her implant pocket and create a more natural shape. He then placed textured moderate-plus profile 550cc implants on each side through her original scars along the breast fold. He also performed power-assisted liposuction to remove fat from her abdomen, hips, flanks, and inner and outer thighs.

The patient, shown three months after her breast implant corrective surgery and power-assisted liposuction, is very pleased with her results. She is happy with her choice of surgeon and is enjoying having her pre-baby shape again.
